This Page was created for Summer School at BHS
Yes, your summer school teacher is a beautiful, unique, 300 pound butterfly! The girl looking at me like I am a lunatic is my daughter Emily. I share this image with you, my new students, to make a few points.
1. The most important thing to me is my daughters and wife. Iana, Emily, and Emma have made my life have meaning.
2. All of us are unique, and we all bring something important to the table... our experiences have created a unique perspective of the world. This class will grow our experiences and enlighten our world view... if we let it do so.
3. I did not want to put my head in the butterfly hole.
I needed to kneel down and would much rather be taking the picture.
Still, I put a smile on my face and gave it a shot.
Because I kept a positive attitude, I was able to create a good memory out of something I wished I could have avoided. Come to this class with a positive attitude, and you may find out you have a love of learning!
4. Lastly, don't be afraid to look like an idiot every now and then.
I have seen to many students that are too hard on themselves and way too worried about looking cool.
We all fail.
We all get Pie on our faces.
We all Fall Down.
It is how we get back up that shows our character! We need to choose to learn from our mistakes and become stronger, or we become weaker by avoiding and ignoring those lessons life gives us.
